Getting Around

Page Section

Keele is in a great location – midway between Birmingham and Manchester, and a short bus ride from the local town of Newcastle-under-Lyme and the city of Stoke-on-Trent.

Bus

The number 25 bus service runs on a regular basis via the Keele campus, taking you to:

  • Stoke-on-Trent Train Station
  • Crewe Train Station
  • Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre
  • Stoke-on-Trent city centre
  • Royal Stoke University Hospital

You will find bus stops throughout the university campus, including outside the Students’ Union.

Train

Want to explore further afield at the weekend? Both Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe train stations offer direct services to many UK cities including Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and London. If you’re aged 16-25, you can buy a 16-25 Railcard to get 1/3 off eligible journeys for a whole year.

Bicycle

If you’d sooner save on tickets and get some exercise, Keele is well-connected to the local area via cycle path. Many students and staff choose to cycle to campus, and there are plenty of on-campus bike storage facilities.

Safety Bus

Your safety is our priority. The Safety Bus is a free service provided by Keele Students’ Union that ensures all Keele students can return home safely to accommodation, both on and off campus, in the evening and early hours of the morning.
